About PNA

Founded in 1998, Pacific Northwest Academy is a private, independent, non-sectarian, K-6 school located in the SW Portland-Metro area. PNA offers an education that fosters leadership, scholarship and stewardship, and shapes attitudes about lifelong learning and responsible global citizenship.

School Facts

Accreditation - PNA is accredited by NAAS (Northwest Association of Accredited Schools) and is a Subscriber School to PNAIS (Pacific Northwest Association of Independent Schools).

School Year -  Pacific Northwest Academy is in session from September through June.

Schedule - Classes begin at 8:10 a.m. and end at 3:10 p.m.

After-school - On-site care is available from 3:10 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on most days off, through Covered Bridge Childcare. In addition, students can participate in several exciting extracurricular activities such as Art Starts, Music, Mad Science, Theatre, Lego Robotics and Chess.

Family Partnership - Parents are valued partners and play a hands-on role at our school. They not only support homework responsibilities and volunteer for classroom and school activities, but also help to drive Pacific Northwest Academy's overall vision and administration.

School Assemblies - At least once a month, students of all ages participate in assemblies, where they present poems, songs, skits and reports on subjects they are studying. It is a valuable opportunity to share their knowledge with the community and gain confidence in public speaking.

Service Learning - At PNA, helping others isn’t something that just happens after the school day ends. Community service is an integral part of our school’s mission, curriculum and classroom activities.
