News and Events
Good communication between Pacific Northwest Academy families and the faculty, administration and staff is very important to us, so each week we publish a weekly newsletter that goes home in the children's backpacks. Parents know to look for it each Wednesday to be kept apprised on what is happening in the school and to receive reminders about important dates. The PNA weekly newsletter is now available online. You can click on the PDF files to the right to view/download the newsletter.
Please be sure to check out the 2007-2008 School Calendar to check out upcoming PNA events.
Geography Days
Save Friday, May 23rd from 11:45 to 1:30, on your calendar to join us to journey across the globe right here at PNA! You will travel to India, China, Japan, Russian, Morocco, Sierra Leone, Guatemala, and Thailand. This day is sure to be an exciting day for teachers, students and parents! Stay tuned for further details. If you have any connection to the above countries, please contact your child's teacher.
Your Trash is our Treasure!
During the month of May we are collecting recyclable materials for an Art Literacy garden sculpture project. Each classroom has two collection boxes, one for small recyclables such as buttons, plastic toys, and old silverware, and one for large recyclables, such as junk from the garage, dishes, scrap wood, garden tools, etc. If you're not sure if we can use it, bring it anyway. It might be just the shape or color we are looking for! We just ask that items be things you were going to throw or give away anyway, and that they be clean, without sharp edges, able to withstand the weather (no cloth or paper items, for example) and not resembling weapons of any kind. Call Adrienne Hall at 503-723-9917 if you have questions regarding this final Art Literacy project of the year.
